Hi, Tumblr. Also, why poetry?

I write a lot- at least a little bit every day, sometimes those quick one-liners turn into songs, other times, they sit in the Notes app on my iPhone for... 2,998 days.

Damn. 

There’s a note in there from July 7, 2010. I wonder what 19 year old me was thinking. 

I have this song called Make Your Move (most likely my next single). At one point, that was just one line, too- ‘Darling, make your move’. Some of those those scribbles turn into full songs. Some were once parts of songs that got rewritten, but I held onto for safe keeping; and then there are those that hit that 1,000 day mark and I’m probably beyond what drove me to write it in the first place.

Maybe those snippets are just snippets. Sometimes the caterpillar becomes a butterfly. Sometimes the caterpillar needs to be appreciated for what it is- not what it might become.

Think of these writings as small glimpses into my mind.
