I couldn’t sleep last night and found myself up at like 7am at the ol’ computer writing a JJK story about heian era Sukuna. (Cor Unum you’re literally rotting my brain I’ve reread it like 3 times, it’s too delicious not to be inspired). The premise came to me on the bus and it was rattling around my head all day and had such a grip on me it wouldn’t let me sleep until before I knew it, boom! 4K words by like 10am. It’s crazy how easy it is to write sometimes but so difficult other times.
Hey, hello, I read your tags about your story (heaven invicta, right? It sounds soooo cool, the worldbuilding seems awesome) and as the Latin nerd I am I decided to answer the not-question you said about "invicta".
"Invicta" is made of "in-", which has a negative meaning, and "victa", from the verb "vico", "to be won/defeated" (passive of "vinco", "to win/to defeat"). "Victus, -a, -um" is the past participle, so it litteraly translates as "that which is not been defeated".
The only thing that has me questioning myself is: stuff ending with "-a" in Latin is usually either singular feminine or plural neuter. In this case, it can be both. Which one was it meant to be? Or is it a poetic plural, so it's supposed to be translated as singualr neuter?

ahhh thank you for this ask! to be honest, i don't really know any latin. back in 2014, i compiled a bunch of latin quotes from google into a word document because i was trying to come up with a motto for haven. looking back on it now, i can only assume i lifted the phrase directly from "roma invicta" and just ignored the concept of gender. so i suppose it could equally be invictus or invictum, depending on how gender would be assigned to non-latin place names
