Will the extras you will be selling be the same price/in the same sets or will you be selling each extra item separately? Thanks so much for hosting This guys y’all are doing awesome!!!

Hello Anon, thanks for the ask!  We’re glad you think we’re doing an awesome job :’)

Our current plans are to set aside some items for bundles, and then sell remaining items separately.  So far we plan on selling physical copies, PDF copies, Gorgeous bundles (physical + all merch), and potentially some merch-only bundles; this is subject to change, so please keep checking our social media for updated information.

We’re hoping to prioritize bundles because they make it easier for us to keep inventory and also make it easier for Mod M to package and ship everything.  Some of the items have minor imperfections so they will be sold at a discounted rate; everything else will stay at the same price out of fairness to our previous customers.  Similarly, shipping for zines / past bundles will remain the same as before, though custom packages may vary in cost depending on weight.

Please note that we are planning to open orders via Google forms and then send customers the invoices through PayPal.  We decided that this would be a good method for selling customized orders and individual items, as the product listing options for free BigCartel stores are limited, do not automatically calculate shipping costs, and do not track remaining inventory.  Invoicing separately would ensure that we charge customers the correct amount if we happen to run out of some items.

That would indeed be some neat timing! 

Final shipping dates will depend mostly on our printers’ timelines, but we look forward to March 2nd and s5 nonetheless!

Hey there! Different anon, I checked the artist previews to see what the other anon was talking about, and I can't see it either. I'm thinking it has to do with the hyphen in the tags. For some reason tumblr is bad and doesn't register tags with hyphens, I know from experience having a username with hyphens in it. Maybe remove them and the tags will work for those select of us who can't seem to get it to work?

Hello there anon. :)

Our tags are actually all hyphen-free (in an effort to avoid tumblr’s issues with those kinds of tags), but because tumblr adds a hyphen to the url as a placeholder for spaces it seems to still be causing a problem. 

A friend continued testing for us late last night, and it looks like the iOS version of the app can’t recognize a full /tagged url that includes any hyphens, regardless of if the tag itself actually has any. I am not sure why the iOS app has this problem, since it is not an issue when opened in a mobile browser or in the Android app, but in order to fix things for everyone I have gone ahead and changed the tags to be space-free as well. (shakes fist at tumblr mobile)

All links have been updated with the new tags, and they should hopefully work correctly across all devices now. Please let us know if there are still any problems!

What sort of extras will there be? Will you be doing a “just extras” bundle?

Hi there anon!

We will have two zine bundle options for our extras. One will include all paper merch, and the other will include paper merch + a clear pouch and charm. Our bookmarks and pouches have already arrived, and you can check those out by clicking the “product previews” link in our bio! At this time we do not plan on selling our merchandise separately. 

Full pictures and details will be posted on January 15th! We will also have a special piece of merchandise exclusive to our giveaway so stay tuned. 👀

How many people have applied so far?

Hi anon!  As of now we have received 82 applications. There are currently many more artist apps than writers, but we predict more writers will apply later in the month since their samples might take more time to prepare.  We do not plan on increasing our estimated range of accepted applicants due to physical zine limitations, but all samples will be reviewed as fairly as possible, whether they were submitted earlier in the application period or later.

I have a few more questions (sorry) but I couldn't find anything in the FAQ? Sorry if they've already been answered but: Will artists receive a copy of the zine? Also for applications is it okay to show a range of media/styles (e.g. digital, realistic and watercolour) or would you prefer we mostly show you the same style? I'm really hyped about this, I love Coran so much - I don't think I've ever seen a zine I'm so invested in, even if I don't get in I'll be crying with happiness at all the art!

Will artists receive a copy of the zine?

Yes we will do our best to supply all participants with a physical copy of the zine if they want one, though they will probably have to pay for their own shipping so we have more to donate to charity.

Is it okay to show a range of media/styles?

Yes, that’s fine!  If you do send us traditional work, please make sure the images look clear (e.g. no blurry photos, good scans, etc.).

I’m glad you’re very hyped about this zine!  We’re looking forward to seeing your application.  Coran deserves all the love!

Hi! Coran is my favourite character so I'm REALLY GLAD I found out about this zine in time, however I only have 1 piece of voltron-related art (of coran ofc) and it's old and not my best; I was trying to copy the show's style but it's a bit meh. Should I include it in my application to show Coran/my love for him or should I just show samples of non-voltron work that I think is better? Thanks! :)

Show off the pieces you like better!  Artist samples do not have to be Voltron-related.  Only writers need to have at least one sample featuring Coran.

If I were to send samples of traditional art for the applications, do they need to be scanned in? And what does the theme of roles and skills include exactly?

Scans of traditional artwork are preferred for the applications, but a well-done, high quality photograph will also work perfectly fine. We just need to be able to see your work clearly and know that you are capable of providing a high quality image for the final product.As for the theme, Although Coran often serves as a comic relief character on the show, he also provides a backbone of support for everyone in Voltron. Whether it’s training the paladins, advising Allura, or manning the helm of the castle ship, Coran’s wide variety of skills and roles are a crucial part of the team. In this zine we would like to explore those roles and skills more in-depth. How did he learn to be a mechanical engineer? What does it mean exactly to be the royal advisor in an alien civilization? When did he learn to barter with those Unilu traders? These are just a few examples of things that could be explored. 

We also highly encourage participants to consider examining his roles during his younger years as well. What were his responsiblities during the time he made the weblum info video? How did he get into classical music as a teenager (did he perhaps play music himself)? The possibilities are endless. :)
