Work hard,play hard||Cora & Jackson
Be careful who you share your weaknesses with,
some people can't wait for the opportunity
to use them against you..
The bayou offers adequate space to run the boundaries on most days, especially with the vast expanse of land, but sometimes Cora needs that extra something to help burn off some energy until she feels fit to collapse. So she goes further afield this morning, always keeping to her own company on these occasions. Training and running are things which clear her head and she knows how important it is to be on form. Falling into the trap of comforting contentment is something that will never be afforded to the younger Hale. For the most part, she doesn't want it that way either, because you grow comfortable with the life you lead and your surroundings, then this slowly becomes your weakness.
Cora has come a long way from two years ago, but some thoughts in her mind are very much the same as they were back then. The hurt she feels is deep within and it's carved itself on her soul, never able to release it without taking herself down also.
She doesn't regret the day she came looking for the Crescent clan, not at all. She had no recollection of the fire itself or how she escaped, but Cora knows to this day that she only just made it to them. There is so much to be thankful to Jackson for, from welcoming her into his pack--to helping her with the grief she was suffering. The Hale wolf still has temper issues, but he has helped her with that along the way and she knows this has been valuable to her still being alive.
In return, Cora has given him her loyalty and never questioned his decisions--always having his side even in the more difficult of times. She has no blood family left (that she is aware of) and they do say pack is family, right? He is her alpha and she doesn't have any reason to possess any doubt in his capabilities of owning that role. He has been as hard on her, as much as he has been understanding, but she knows why--she knows he cares and this is returned by the young wolf. However there is some conflict going on in her mind and Cora doesn't understand it at all. It plagues her thoughts quite often and she isn't sure why she just can't see him properly as her alpha. It isn't because she doesn't have faith in him--Cora would put her life on the line for him and if anyone knows the younger Hale--this isn't an easy statement she can make about many.
Arriving back at the bayou a little later due to the extra distance of her run, Cora stops just near the small homes the wolves have made for themselves. There's nothing fancy about them, some are very basic and not much to look at--but sometimes it's not about the materialistic things.
Hands on her knees until she gets her breath back--which happens fairly quickly, she then drops to the floor and starts counting as she does some press-ups, only stopping when she hears somebody just behind her. There's a deep inhale and the scent is instantly recognised, so she sweeps her leg out and smirks, attempting to take them off their feet. “Morning....”
