Important before reading. To those who use "strawberries" in their practice: do as it feels right to you. I respect everything. This is just my personal experience and doing, just sharing it because I think it could be fun to read and it may be helpful to some.
Reading from English sources, it was weird to me that strawberries were linked to Hermes. I didn't find them in italian sources, but at the end I just passively accepted it even without embracing it. It just didn't feel right to me.
A few weeks ago I was roaming around and found this nice tree and red fruits were falling from it on the street. They were so beautiful, and thought they would be nice to put on my Hermes' altar. I took one, and brought home.
A quick research and google told me it was a fruit of "corbezzolo". Another research and well, corbezzolo is known in English as the strawberry-tree.
And it clicked.
It was never strawberries yet… Strawberry tree berries. "Arbutus berries" to be more accurate.
I laughed for five minutes, thinking about how I was attracted to that fruit and wanted it on my altar, and my misunderstanding in between languages. That was so Hermes-coded and loved it.

Importante prima di leggere. Per coloro che usano le "fragole" nella loro pratica: fate come sentite giusto. Io rispetto ogni cosa. Questa che condivido è solo la mia personale esperienza e pratica, la condivido solo perché credo sia un episodio divertente e che magari possa essere d'aiuto a qualcuno.
Leggendo da fonti in inglese, mi è sempre risultato strano che le fragole fossero collegate ad Hermes. Non le trovavo nelle risorse italiane, e alla fine ho sempre accettato passivamente la cosa senza tuttavia accoglierla nella mia pratica. Semplicemente, non mi suonava giusto.
Qualche settimana fa ero in giro e ho trovato questo bell'albero con dei frutti rossi che cadevano sulla strada. Mi sono piaciuti tanto e ho pensatto che sarebbero stati perfetti per il mio altare di Hermes. Così ne ho allegramente raccolto uno e portato a casa.
Una ricerchina su google e scopro che si tratta del "corbezzolo". Cerco ancora e il corbezzolo è lo "strawberry-tree" di cui trovo scritto ovunque.
Quindi di base… Non sono mai state fragole, ma queste bacche (?) dell'albero del corbezzolo. Che poi più correttamente in inglese sarebbero quindi "Arbutus berry".
E quindi niente, ho riso cinque minuti buoni sia per come sono stata attratta dal frutto con l'idea di metterlo sull'altare, e per questo misunderstanding linguistico. L'ho trovato appropriato e divertente, proprio da Hermes.
