𝐀 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘…
The setting is a sci-fi dystopia, inspired by media such a borderlands, cowboy beebop, and mad max, but also things like bloodborne and lovecraft. There are two to three primary planets that I'll focus on with all my yapping, since these are each related to the big three. But there are many more under the umbrella of the powers that govern the universe. The main worlds are named 𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐒 and 𝐅𝐀𝐓𝐄'𝐒 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓. Though I might mention a couple others, these are the biggest with the most ocs and most impact in the universe as a whole...
There is however constant conflict, and complex issues with not only the big three- but also amongst the races and species living on these planets. While each planet has it's own laws and governments- the universe is run almost entirely by the massive corporations that run all major manufacturing.
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐈𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄
These three entities govern the laws of the universe. They embody major principles and remain mostly neutral to everything outside of themselves.
𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐚; associated with fate and order. gold. 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚; associated with life and spirit. crimson. 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚; associated with magic and insight. blue.
There was a time when the three of them weaved the universe together into what it was harmoniously. However an unknown entity convinced Fatuma and Anima to turn on their kin, and kill them. Somnima's blood would spill across space, and into various planets. Creating the disease known as 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐭.
𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐑𝐎𝐓
This unnatural disease, borne from a dead god- is one of the major threats in this universe. That causes feathers and wings to grow over one's body. It seemingly effects people at random, though it does show a pattern among bloodlines and family pools. Anyone infected with this disease though will have access to magic. Or abilities that seem magical, and impossible to explain in known scientific ways. Using these abilities however will increase the rate of growth. And overuse threatens to consume someone entirely. The more powerful the ability, the worse off someone is going to be. The only known way of removing the feathers or excess wings is via surgical removal whenever and wherever it occurs.
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇 𝐎𝐅 𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐍𝐈𝐌𝐀
A major event in the universe- Fatuma and Anima were convinced via an outside source that their kin needed to die. The details are unclear, but different factions believe different things. The only consistency that seems to arise, is the idea that Somnima and the gift of magic it created- are taboo. Somnima's corpse can be found still impaled to the world 𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐈𝐒. The planet is now a wasteland of cosmic horror, and considered uninhabitable. Most people consider it a crime to even try visiting Madeis, especially with feather rot infecting the universe. But some people still make attempts; either hoping for a cure, or in the case of some fanatics- it's a sort of pilgrimage to gain insight of the universe.
𝐀𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃 ( aether inc )
THE leading corporation in the universe, with countless patents on technology that improves the lives of countless people. Their mascot is a cute little frog, but it's a bit of a cover for the fact that... aether inc is well. It's a massive corrupt company that's after money control and power. I'll definitely be making this, and the leading groups in the universe their own post because... as said above- while certain planets do have their own governments; everything is sort of run by these companies.
