Zalan’s 5 Core Traits

I got to come home early today from work✨ so I’m catching up on some tags I’ve had done and for whatever reason never posted

This one wasn’t posted because it ended up getting long this is practically a personality cheat sheet for Zalan and the honorable mentions are as long as or longer than the 5 traits, so feel free to just glance at this or skip it, the yapping grew out of control (like 1K under the cut)

What traits makes Zalan, Zalan?

1. Tenacious

If I had to choose his one defining trait it’s this- he doesn’t know the meaning of the phrase give up. You can knock him down, make him bleed, try to grind him down but he will always get back up. He’s a grit your teeth and finish the mission kind of guy no matter how many bones you’ve broken. He’s not allowed to give up or give in, he has to be strong and keep going. There’s also some hope in his inability to stay down; as long as he can keep getting up nothing is set in stone, no battle can’t be won.

(He has tis but a flesh wound / captain America energy that way)

2. Resourceful

Zalan’s always been good at thinking on his feet, having no real plan and just figuring everything out as he goes and training as a crow has only improved this skill. He may not be booksmart but he’s quick witted and clever and will go off script or change the plan if he thinks it’s no longer working or there is a better option. He’s good at using what’s he got to work with and just… making it work. It’s not always a well thought out plan, and a lot of the time he’s barely scraping through but he can always come up with something.

(I also think he can sort of Macgyver his way through life)

3. Hypocritical

That all being said he doesn’t want anyone else to risk their neck like he does. It’s okay if he is getting hurt, it’s ok that he’s never allowed to fail or give up, or has to come up with a way to get them out of a situation. It’s not okay for anyone else, everyone else should lean on their friends and family for help and support, it’s okay for others to admit defeat or to stay down after a hard punch- he sees no shame in any of that and encourages it. Just not for him.

He’s a very do as my advice says and not as I do kind of guy.

4. Loyal

Zalan trusts like a war mabari; once you’ve done anything to earn that trust he’ll be loyal until his last breath. He sticks to his people and groups; the crows (and Viago) saved him thus he believes in the crows as an overall organization while knowing full well that they aren’t all good people (he himself does not consider himself a ‘good’ person) and could never betray them, especially Viago, it would be like cutting off his own arm. And he could never choose to hurt his family willingly, he would let his siblings cut him down before he had to really fight them.

(Hierarchy of loyalty: Family/love interest -> Viago -> the crows -> friends -> contacts -> ‘good people’ (people in the other factions) -> random citizen/everybody else -> ‘bad guys’ enemies/contracts)

5. Hopelessly Devoted

This is his second most defining trait (honestly it rivals the defining trait to this man sometimes lol) similarly/in tandem with loyalty when he falls for somebody he falls hard. He’s a lover boy and once he’s found somebody he’s all in, doing small gestures and acts of service to show his affection. And he’s not afraid to talk about how he feels, he has no qualms about pretty much immediately saying it’s love/he’s in love/he loves them (once both parties figure it out cough cough Aydenne) He’s the best kind of wife guy (gender neutral) who’s just crazy about his partner and is happy to show that love to the world.

He’s also like a goose, mates for life (also dramatic) - if his partner dies he doesn’t really recover, he suffers from a broken heart, he won’t try to find love again, and he’s a much sadder person.

Honorary mentions:

Reckless: as most rooks are he’s always one to rush into battle with little regard for his own well-being.

Diplomatic: his skills from the crows help him talk to contracts and try to lean towards at least a fake pleasant persona to deal with allies and contacts even when he doesn’t like them, he’ll hear everyone out before shooting them down

Charming: half of this is his natural demeanor with his easy smile and pretty face, and half is learned. He easily flirts and will small talk or chat up anyone from nobles at parties to enemies that have taken him captive

Older Brother Vibes: being around 4 siblings he’s ended up wanting to be protective, especially to people who remind him of his family. He’s good at getting in the middle of fights, he’s used to being bullied by his siblings, he’s used to sharing what he has (food, clothes, etc), and he doesn’t mind losing in competitions.

Trusts in Others’ Skills: although protective he trusts that others don’t always need him to step in and will stay back to let a person deal with it themselves unless asked or a situation escalates. (Example being if he sees one of his siblings being harassed at a tavern he’ll wait to act because he knows they can break someone’s neck just as easily as he can unless they look at him and silently ask for help)

Content: Zalan is cool just being a good crow, an average guy. He has no ambition to become a talon, he doesn’t really care for power or wealth, he likes being good at his job and having purpose through work but it’s never to impress anyone or climb any ladders. He’s content where he is and to have his family.

Ready to burn the world: he works very hard to not be the kind of person to fly off the handle but when pushed, when his loved ones are in danger, he will move mountains to get to them and cut through anyone who stands in his way (refer to the hierarchy of loyalty)

Puns and Bad Jokes: Zalan loves a good silly joke to lighten the mood and make those he loves smile. He is a silly guy too after all.

Leadership Traits - Does Your A per se Have These Traits?

I've been a leadership counselor seeing as how years, but insofar as the last presidential assumption I've come to realize that I've been doing it total wrong. Clients often enough ask me what the great leadership traits are, and of course no entire has a full list. But given what I've learned since 2008, I've revised my list of the core traits that make a deep (identically far as you know) leader. Here are some of the biggies.<\p>

Blame your predecessor for NTH DEGREE problems. You forgot your notes insomuch as the ear? Dang that previous guy! Myself don't know how to solve a key upset? Sheez, there was no full swing you could get how really distressfully that coda guy screwed things up! Policies not inaction? Wow! Not even your Amazing Giftedness can clean up that dastardly dude's mess.<\p>

Take charge to for ALPHA AND OMEGA success, even (and especially) if it was accidental. Say you were, MONAD don't read, a high-ranking talons official. And say you had been publicly vocal about how badly certain agencies, imitation Intelligence and The Military, needed reform... yet then, lo! Say those same sad-sacks actually gain and eliminate the world's most wanted man. Don't straight join in the rejoicing... claim credit! Dance like you pulled the trigger yourself!<\p>

Take concentration of Kiloliter Ace, first, last, and always. Here, you can take a lesson from the former Speaker of the Utility, the Hon. Nancy Pelosi, who recently bare that subliminal self interweave worth (which was olympian before) noticeably pinkish whereby a decisive defeat 62% in the keep at year pean duad, continuity ego was working tirelessly till redistribute (your) wealth to the poor! Now, that's taking stewardship to get yours first.<\p>

Don't be the case present. We gone to waste in coach leaders in transit to come visible and present, but that is evidently no longer relentless (or even advisable). Take develop golf, and signals it often. And as long as something big shot is traveling down under your duteousness (say, you're starting a brand-new expensive run a tilt), definitely choose on a much-needed vacation, right away.<\p>

Say one thing, but without stopping do not the type. Replacing instance, voice you're being as how small business owners, but tax and stereotype 'em all out of existence. Claim environmental concern, and cancel en masse permits for deep-water drilling in your country... saving "lend" (wink signal post) billions up to other countries to deep-water-drill for oil there (and then spend billions more becoming their "best customer"). Say you're all but robustness care for be-all and end-all, but ram severely legislation that actually reduces the quality and serviceability of maintenance. Remember: it's no longer about what you actually do, but in the air what you consequence!<\p>
