Thoughts on medium term strategy: the safest instrument for a good, guaranteed return on investment, with no tax payable, is in my home loan. Once LVR is less than 80% I can open an offset account. I’ll use this to store my emergency fund and other medium term savings (without the negative effects of using redraw).

Core goal 🏡

After core goal one is achieved, I will put two thirds of additional funds to achieving core goal two. It's a medium term goal so to keep it safe and in step with inflation it'll all go to HISA or term deposits.

Three goals

My three core goals. One before the next EOFY, one in the next 5-10 years, one in the next 20 years.

1. Establish emergency fund (6 months expenses so $12k 🦄)

2. House deposit ($100k should cover what I am looking for 🏡)

3. Retirement fund (retiring early means not accessing Super, so a cool million will provide flexibility 😎)
