Y'all. Y'ALL.
Since I began trying (mostly unsuccessfully) to make my tits disappear a year ago, I've been dreaming of a corsetry or stay- inspired solution. I have a custom underbust corset from a respected atelier, and it successfully smooths and shapes my body with way less discomfort than modern elastic nonsense. And I follow a number of historical fashion and sewist channels and seeing the wide range of ways people managed bust support before elastic made me sure there was a way to take those techniques and shift them to meet the needs of those of us with boobs we want to disappear.
I also have quite dense breast tissue, and a lot of it. Which means that compression binders of any sort are only so effective, because it's like trying to compress, say, a couple grapefruits made of steak.
So imagine my absolute delight to find this video!
Do I have this level of sewing skills?
Absolutely not.
Have I watched enough Bernadette Banner and Abbey Cox to at least understand, conceptually what's going on here?
Yes, yes I have.
Am I going to try to harangue a friend who can sew into taking a weekend and helping me do this?
You bet I am. It might take 6 months for that to happen, but by the gods I'm gonna figure it out.
