Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R - WV), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, is publicly saying the shutdown should end without a wall.

This is huge. This is not a moderate like Lisa Murkowski (R - AL). This is not a vulnerable 2020 Republican like Gardner (R - CO) or Collins (R - ME). This is not a retiring Republican like Lamar Alexander (R - TN) or Pat Roberts (R - KS). This a senator running in a red state Trump won by 40 points and still has a 60ish% approval rating in. She has every reason to embrace the president’s policies.
