Maya's Steph Bee in Kali Ma
Inkspired Magazine Interview with Designer Corey Lolley
APP 2013
Hey Maya Lovers, Friends and Family:
What an epic year for us here at Maya Jewelry at the 18th Annual Association of Professional Piercers conference! We attend and vend at conference every year in Las Vegas and I would have to say this was the best year yet! So many exciting things all crammed into one week in Vegas. It's always such a great time catching up with the friends we have from studios around the globe, and having the chance to connect with new ones.
From myself Corey Lolley, the designer of Maya Jewelry, I must say thank you to everyone for all the hard work, energy, intention, and deep LOVE we all put into this years conference.
A big shout out goes to the talented, beautiful and dedicated help of Steph Bee. I couldn't have a better support, right hand woman and cheerleader than you. You make the Maya Jewelry world go round girl! Special thanks to my other core Maya Warriors Adam Block owner of The End is Near Tattoo in NYC, Linda Yorba, Corey Madsen, Brook Fung the designer of Peeko Apparel, and Joshuadavid Reno. I could not have done this without any of you and am so grateful for your support and love. We really missed you this year Kyle Peterson! Congrats to you and your new little one on the way!
From the left, Steph Bee, Adam Block and Joshuadavid Reno just finished setting up the Maya Jewelry booth and looking sexy in their opening day black and red looks.
The concept for our booth this year was about bringing the light through the dark. Marking who I am as an artist, being myself, fearless and bringing the esoteric romance that occurs when one engages in this way with their art, voice and spirit. Blending the darkness but holding the light and remembering that we are all the carrier of the light inside of us.
The booth was dark, graphic, and color blocked in black, red and white. The 30 foot booth space was beautifully adorned with over 400 red roses, black lace, mirrors, and banners.
All this woven seamlessly together to unveil the 2013 collection which not only features new Heavy Metal Designs, Ornate Wood Shapes, gorgeous new jewelry for Standard Earrings (For the People Collection), but also the latest from our ever expanding Accessory collection... A MUST SEE! Which includes amazing necklaces, rings, bracelets, and wrist cuffs. Available now at your local piercing studio and coming soon to:

It was our 5th year winning the, "2013 Best Multiple Booth Award" in which we are always honored and humbled.
The theme for the Banquet this year was, "High Fashion" and featured the worlds first ever "Body Jewelry Fashion Show" complete with a red carpet entrance and photo wall. It was a blast! Everyone was so amazing and stunning, it was incredible to say the least. We closed the fashion show with our models, Luna Duran from River City Tattoo and Kevin Jump from HTC Piercing. Luna worked the runway with a fierceness and grace that blew us all away.
Kevin stole the show in his quirky, sexy way and brought the house down.
All of this paired with a sickening visual backdrop and projections / music video produced by the super talented works of Kate Geaghan and a custom remixed (Slayer - Raining Blood VS Die Antwooord - I Fink U Freeky) produced for us by Siren AKA Brandon Hale. The video and music played simultaneously while the models walked with a live projection feed with detailed close ups of the jewelry on the models. Check it out below!
Thank you Joshuadavid Reno, the designer and fashionista of Majesty Black for all your hard work to put it together for all the designers and producing the worlds first ever body jewelry fashion show.
A shout out to all the models and designers, you were all epic! A picture of me doing the final walk with Luna and Kevin:
This post wouldn't be complete without a thank you to the wonderful APP Board members for all of their hard work in advancing and making the world a better place for us as a community. Thank you Luis, Ed, and Caitlin for always holding down the expo floor.
Also a special thank you to all the other jewelry designers, vendors, attendees and volunteers as well! We are all so blessed to be able to participate in this industry built on self expression that touches and affects so many people around the world. Here's some pics of us closing day, spreading the love with roses because you are inspirations to us.
