Dobermans and Dopplegangers

Ever since he was a child, Sora always loved the park. He never knew exactly why, and only really knew that it always made him feel safe, feel at home, feel complete. The park was his save heaven and no one could ruin it.
It was only natural that Sora was at the park that Saturday morning, it was a weekly ritual he’d had since he was a kid and not once had he broken it. It was probably strange for a college kid to be seen walking around the park once a week and if anything shady were to happen he would probably become a suspect, but he just couldn’t bring himself to not come. His gut would never let him really, always told him that there was something waiting for him there, but he never knew what.
His thoughts had been put to a sudden stop when he noticed a doberman running towards him while on his stroll. Usually people would freak out and make a run for it if they saw the mischaracterized dog running towards them, but Sora was Sora, and just like he did with regular people, he put faith in the possibility that this animal was not going to hurt him.
Afterall, it was kind of obvious that this dog wanted nothing more than to play if the stick in it’s mouth was an obvious sign of it.
Sora quickly knelt down to greet the energetic dog as it approached him and dropped the stick infront of him. Being a sucker for dogs, Sora couldn’t help himself from petting and snuggling the giant puppy, who soon became confused after a few seconds of snuggling. He had been so absorbed with the creature infront of him that he had barely picked up on someone addressing him.
“Ah, sorry could you repeat that...I uh, wasn’t paying attention.” He spoke softly as he lifted his head up to look at the probable owner of the doberman.
