NY Giants Roster News: Evan Brown, Corn Elder

According to Dan Salomone of Giants.com, the NY Giants have waived offensive lineman Evan Brown.

The Giants signed Brown off the practice squad last week as a depth option after Jon Halapio was ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Brown will likely be added to the team’s practice squad if no team claims him.

Miami plays at Duke this Friday night for the first time since that fateful Halloween tilt that ended with the greatest play-that-shouldn’t-have-counted-and-never-should-have-had-to-happen of this decade.

Since it’s a Friday game this is a special edition of TV Watch ‘em ups. Sort of. I mean, I just want to spread the gospel that Thomas Sirk never got the ball across the goal line on the touchdown that set up the famous “Return To Glory. Also, Duke got two questionable (to be kind) pass interference calls to keep that drive going in the first place. My point? I’m actually glad that Miami benefited from a bad call. They earned it.

Here, at long last, is the thing itself rather than the representations. Sometimes it’s hard to separate the two.

As for the game on Friday? Duke does a lot of things on offense that Miami has struggled with. The talent gap pretty heavily favors Miami but it’s a road game on a Friday and whiny piss baby David Cutcliffe is a really good coach. The line is about -5 for Miami right now but I’m not sure how aware the betting public is that Duke has looked good so far this year. Miami’s offense is going to get some nitro from Ahmmon Richards return and adding weapons for Malik Rosier right now seems like a great thing. Rosier has looked way better throwing the ball this year than he ever did before in mop up duty and his one spot start... on Halloween 2015 against Duke. Miami has tons of weapons on offense but Duke actually leads the nation in sacks so far so I’m interested to see the run/pass split for the Hurricanes. My guess is that Miami bludgeons them to death with running in the first half to mitigate any tempo Duke tries to use on offense and then the Canes hang on for dear life late.
