Jack's crashout at John over a fish is one of the funniest dialogue exchanges between two characters in this game. "John. WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL!!??" The smell of that fish was so bad it sent Pepper's mind right back to the trenches lol. John, you've broken this man. He's a shell of the mouse he used to be.
Decided to give the Jumalanpelko challenge another go in Genemod and I haven't been too bad with sunfurs, She got a lot of torties added to her diet but welp, that's all the Cult could provide so too bad lol. Here are our Sunkitties.
And here they are separately so you can look over their info. (If anyone wants to see the guards, I can do a post for them too~)
Poor Marigold didn't stand much of a chance due to being a boy and got the boot after some sunfurred torties were born, poor bastard.
Duck had a little bit of sunfur but it wasn't enough and she unfortunately also got the boot as soon as Avocado was born lol.
Before the game actually brings up the species differences, i immediately clocked the different types of rodents in Mouse P.I. for hire for the mice, rats and shrews. The rats are big with lines on their tails, the shrews are short with thin white tails and the mice are an between with thin black tails. Thought it was a cool difference in shape and design :D very cute
I know to everyone it seems obvious but hey I'm playing it rn and taking notice of stuff as i play, checking every nook and cranny🔎👀
Restarted my save cause I'm aiming to go for everything secret and am in the Subway rn and came across this dude under a seat and had a horrible thought:
Mice pin (not pancaking, it's more that they become literally immobile or freeze with fear. Deer in headlights) themselves to the ground with their ears back and body splayed out when in pain or sick.. The fact that he's hidden too also seems to point to that, poor bastard.
Lore: Not much is known of Tulio's birth or life outside of his current Jackal family, the Squad's mother (I'm dubbing her mama Jackal) found him abandoned as a very young puppy in one of the many abandoned ruins of the desert and immediately caught on to the fact that he'd purposely been left behind. She immediately took him in and adopted Tulio into her own litter who all got attached to him as their "brother". The oldest of them, "Zero" especially. (more under cut)
In this AU the Jackal Squad are less mercenaries that get down and dirty in murder and more-so they stand up for those less fortunate or families down on their luck (they know what it's like, for the Jackals in general family is everything) and serve as kinda like a Robin Hood-esc service. Protecting the little people and holding them financially. They just prefer to stay on in their own group out in the desert. I suppose think of it as how Mandelorians work in Star Wars but less up their own asses hj/
They had become a right handful of six where they lived, often getting into trouble as youngins did and Tulio fitted right in seamlessly. During training, Tulio always faltered when it came to the more physical stuff. He didn't feel comfortable wielding blades or "harming" even when necessary. He passed basic self defense but the more harsher methods..it was clear to see his heart wasn't in it. He found his calling as being more the "repair guy" when his brothers or sister got themselves injured or hurt while on their rounds, so he became their honorary "medicine dog".
In this AU it's less that the Jackal Squad willingly joined Eggman and more they were at the wrong place at the wrong time. Infinite and the other Jackals planned to raid one of the Doctor's many bases while Tulio stayed behind, something he deeply regrets and feels guilty for doing. The Jackals big break was badly timed, as a certain black and red hedgehog was currently on his own mission of destroying the building, this resulted in the hideout going into shutdown with the other four inside and Zero ended up getting attacked and beat down by Shadow who originally thought him to be one of Eggman's hires. Nil was beat down and the Eggman base exploded, killing the other four, Tulio saw the explosion from the Jackal Squad's home and came running but was too late and any attempts to get inside or do anything were stopped by Shadow. Not out of cruelty, but getting anywhere near the flaming wreckage was a death sentence... :c
Some facts/trivia about Milo:
• Tulio is mute and communicates through sign-language, as well as basic body-language signals like facial, ear and tail movements.
• He isn't entirely blind to his scarred eyes and sometimes his vision flickers in and out which can be fairly irritating for him, especially if he's doing a mission.
• Tulio was originally planned to just be a stand-in for the avatar, but not anymore. The avatar in this Forces Reimagined Au is still Gadget and he and Milo bond over being attacked by Infinite, Gadget feeling somewhat responsible and guilty for Tulio getting scarred by the jackal. (survivors guilt all around with this one folks)
