So, shit has met the fan again

My dad is back in the hospital and is in critical condition with little chance of recovery. Due to negligence on behalf of the hospital he has lost his leg and a portion of his heart and kidneys to sepsis. My mother and I are once again forced to take time off to not just deal with him, but also to prepare a lawsuit.

We are possibly adjacent to the Mount Caramel Hospital negligence cases pouring in, as my dad was under that doctors care when his rapid decline began.

In addition... my uncle passed suddenly and without warning last week, leaving my family devastated emotionally and financially. Any little bit helps while we try to pick up the pieces and determine where to go from here

illness and death discussion under the cut

we went to celebrate my grandma’s 80th birthday in late july.

two weeks later we found out she had breast cancer.

two weeks ago we found out that the cancer has spread too quickly and too much to be treatable and she’d be placed in hospice care.

this past wednesday i got a call from my mom while i was on a business trip that the hospice nurse said that “it’s only a matter of days”.

i said goodbye to her on the phone today. im just waiting for the call that she’s gone and i’m just so tired. she’s the strongest woman i know, and to have her in the state that she’s in rn is just tearing me apart.
