PROMPTS FROM BEAUTY AND THE BEAST ( Accepting! )
@cornelianlute asked: "Hold still. this might sting a little."
Pain was something he had become accustomed to, in his long life as a warrior, part of him was even certain that he was born knowing pain ( at least, it is what it feels like, this familiarity of pain -- when had it first begin? ) -- regardless, the Warrior only manages a subtle grimace as the Princess applies the medicinal salve on the gash on his arm, which was devoid of its usual bracer.
Cornelia had nearly been attacked by a behemoth that no doubt was in search of some sustenance, while the creature cannot be blamed for merely following its base instincts -- the people of the town were in fright and the Knights of Cornelia were dispatched.
The Warrior had led the defense, evacuating the civilians in the nearby area and setting a magical perimeter to ensure the behemoth did not go further into the town and towards the castle.
The battle was tedious but it was won in short time no thanks to the efforts of Cornelia-- however, in its final throws of life, the behemoth shot its claw out to swipe at an unsuspecting soldier -- the Warrior had never moved so fast in his life as he pushed the soldier out of the way and raised his shield just in the nick of time.
Because the claw had managed to snag his bracer, the piece of metal barely holding on just enough to take the brunt of the damage but skin was still breached -- the blood and pain that followed were blinding but the Warrior had not allowed himself to crumble to it. Perhaps it was the adrenaline that had stopped him from feeling a majority of the pain -- for it wasn't until they had returned to the castle that his arm began to throb in agony.
He had hoped to go to the infirmary without much issue but the Princess had caught up to him and insisted on aiding.
" Thank you, Your Highness..." the Warrior speaks at last, blue eyes remaining trained on the bandages the princess now bound his arm with, her touch gentle and caring -- more than what he deserved after returning in such a state.
"I apologize for taking you away from your duties," always ready with an apology, for surely a royal shouldn't have to spend her time fussing over wounded soldiers.
