What made you choose Cornell?
Hi! I went into the whole college application process knowing that I was going to only apply to five schools. I applied to one safety school, one match school, and three reaches. As a result, (since I couldn’t just send in random applications) I had to think long and hard about which schools I’d be happy at and which schools would be good fits for me (it was a very emotional process lol). I’m also one of those people who fundamentally believes that you should pick a school where you’re not only comfortable, but where you also feel: welcomed, accepted, and at home (home-y…that’s a word, right?). And to make a long story short, Cornell met all my requirements.
I like that it has such a large undergraduate population, I like that it’s near a big city (but not too close where the city would be a distraction), and I love the whole idea of ‘any person, any study.’ There are so many different, and intellectually stimulating people on campus, and while the atmosphere is very competitive, I feel like the general student population is a little bit more laid back. Also, the campus is beautiful and very woods-y, so I feel like it encourages you to be fit and stay fit. And finally, as a side note, we also have some of the best alumni: Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Bill Nye (the supreme leader/conquerer of childhood science videos). It doesn’t get much better than that.
That’s why I chose Cornell, and I am so excited to be apart of the class of 2019! If you have any more questions, just let me know! :)
Officially decided to go to Cornell! I'm gonna be far from home, but I'm so excited for the next four years of my life!!! (and if any other appblrs plan on going there, message me please!)
