Emergence
So I got my housing assignment last night, when after having gone to bed early, something managed to wake me up. An invisible force immediately tugged my sleep-slowed hand to pick up my phone. The dazzling white of the Mail app temporarily blinded me as I pulled down and released, a motion I have become skilled at during this time of Waiting. The tiny grey burst turned. 1 sin leer (one unread message) popped up and my heart quickened as I tapped on the Gmail mailbox. "Housing Office" was the name of the sender, and after incessant quickening, my heart almost exploded. Scrolled through all the time-wasting pleasantries. Balch Hall UG Single 3747 How quickly my hopes were dashed against the rocks of a random administrative procedure. I was properly awake now. The only girl's dorm on campus???? That hadn't even been one of my choices. And a SINGLE?!!? Que disastre. But I did my research (the required furious Googling and reading of outdated forum posts) and now I feel better. Although I might not have gotten a roommate like I'd wanted, or one of the newer halls, this remains my dream school. And my dream major. And I am ridiculously excited and privileged and blessed. That much closer to truly finding myself. And now for decorating ideas 👼🏽🌝
Yay :)
So I'm just here to say a hugeeeeee thank you to everyone who prayed for me or encouraged me or gave me advice. It's been a log semester but two days ago I got my acceptance letter from Cornell University. I applied to their College of Human Ecology, to study Fashion Design Management, and I'll start in fall 2016. I am beyond ecstatic to be able to say all this, and it still doesn't feel real that I'll be going to the college of my dreams. I was unsure, and then I was really positive about it, and to be honest, it's all down to God. He's made this whole thing possible. This is a really ranting, long post 😂 but long story short, I'm hyped to levels I haven't been hyped before, to be able to go and make new memories, and study something I'm deeeeeply passionate about. So a huuuuge thank you again, and just a reminder that if you're ever scared, or worried, or unsure, just pray and believe that He can do it for you, because after this, literally anything is possible. Here's to a whole new world of possibility and opportunities!
