Wishing you a Cornish Christmas / Nadelik Lowen!
So There's This Event
In my home town. It's called Cornish Christmas, and it occurs every Friday after Thanksgiving before Christmas. It's usually very fun for the whole family, but the last few years have been exhausting (there's a huge overcrowding issue nowadays, and parking is a nightmare). I always feel like I should visit at least one, because it was always a part of my childhood, and it's origins are steeped in the town's roots (particularly the mines, in which there was a large Cornish workforce. Were it not for the mines, the town would not exist).
So what do I do? Grab some food, meet up with an inebriated friend, and hangout in an alley between buildings with a chill dog. Once we were done, I fed the dog the last piece of my food, and we hit a coffee house to chat and enjoy hot drinks.
Oh yeeeeaaaaah~ I love a super laid-back hangout. Less people. Coffee. Good food. That ALWAYS equates to a good fuckin' day in my book. One of the better Cornish Christmas events I've been to in years.
So at Cornish Christmas there was a pretty creepy/awesome man dressed as the Mad Hatter...
At first we thought he was a clown walking around, so then we were staring at him for the longest time and when he came over he was talking in a really high creepy voice and his eyes were bulging and it was just great! We all took pictures with him and were talking about how much we loved him and he just stood there whispering "Yes, yes they really do love me..." So after he walked away, our little group decided to follow him and as we did we ran into him and had a few more awkward moments.
Flash forward about 20 minutes as we passed him on our way to a coffee shop, he was leaning against a doorway and I made straight eye contact with him as we walked and he held it for the longest time and then shouted, "DON'T STARE".
So after awhile of hanging out in the coffee shop we turned around and he was pressed against the sliding glass door smiling, and when he walked in he shouted "I WOULD LIKE A CUP OF TEA" and then held up the giant tea cup he was holding. The coffee shop went silent and it was overall pretty great.
So it's a pretty poor picture, but it goes my friend Sara, Me, Mad Hatter, and then my friend Jesse.
Get a night out with some of my friends at Cornish Christmas! So excited!
