PRINCE OF WALES DIARIES ♔
10 MAY 2024 || DUCHY OF CORNWALL VISIT - ISLES OF SCILLY (1/2) : ST MARY'S HARBOUR
The Duke of Cornwall spent his second day on the Isles of Scilly while touring the duchy.
For his first engagement of the day he visited St. Mary's Harbour - the maritime gateway to the Isles of Scilly - and met representatives from local businesses operating in the area.
The harbour is run by The Duchy of Cornwall and handles passengers and vessels - from 'Tripper Boats' and sail training vessels to fishing boats and those carrying special cargo deliveries.
During his visit, William spent time with harbour operators as well as local people from businesses on St. Mary's. He heard about life on the islands and how they are preparing for the summer season.
He also met and spoke to the mixed crew who participated in the 2024 World Pilot Gig Championships and heard about their experiences of the races.
