It's been almost a week now since classes were suspended and everyone's put on home quarantine. For work-from-home parents (business owners, Virtual Assistants, entrepreneurs, and the like) this could be stressful -- for a start, as every change in routine is -- but this can also be a perfect opportunity to spend more time connecting with our children and catching up with them. . . So far they're happy about getting to spend more time with us at home, not having to get up early, but I started to worry about their learning. So today, I'm teaching them chores 🤣 Luis is learning how to thoroughly clean his bedroom windows, where to start so the dirt doesn't keep coming back to where he last cleaned, and how to disinfect floors and surfaces without harming his hands. Deeboy wanted to help and I have age-apropriate chores for him, too. I assigned the removable refrigerator shelves to him and, thanks to Corona, he realized how dirty they got and how important it is to regularly clean them. Ha ha! . . I try to make chores sound like fun (even if I know it isn't and that I pout behind their backs 🤣), and hopefully this routine goes on for another two weeks so they truly get to develop the habit. It took me 21 days to learn how to truly be happy even while doing chores, thanks to the 21 Day Happiness Challenge I took with the @purpose_fairy , so I'm hoping they'd get 14 more weeks of doing household chores and learning life skills with me and their dad 😉😆 . . For families living in apartments, this can be quite a challenge especially when there are small children who need regular physical exercise. Fortunately, Award-winning Author @teresadumadag can help you come up with a plan. She's been homeschooling her kids for about a decade now and has helped many career women transition from their 9-to-5 to a full-time career working from home. You can get in touch with Ms. Teresa now; she's always delighted to help moms ease into a new lifestyle at home, especially today that we're all on home quarantine. . . Tomorrow will be another day for the boys and me. They love strawberries so I'm gonna show them that strawberries come from gardens; not jars 😉 #coronaschoolbreak https://www.instagram.com/p/B9_8szNJF_y/?igshid=19pjopb5eirtc
