WIP-(belated)Sunday
My dear @ratchsellsfornax tagged me to share my weekend-wip 😄 Well, since it is thanks to you that I even got writing again, of course I'll oblige 😁
I know I should probably finally try to write the BEGINNING of my story instead of always jumping right into the middle, but better to have written something than nothing at all
A little Snippet at the beginning of ME1 :) Not really polished yet, but I like it so far.
Great, not only had Jenkins the energy of a Puppy, he also had the attention span of one. And now his focus had shifted onto Kaidan. "Hey Lieutenant, is it true you are a Biotic?"
Kaidan sighed silently but there was no sense in lying. The first time they hit the ground Jenkins would know anyway, so better get it out of the way now.
"Yes I am" he was acutely aware of the eyes on them. People still had their reservations against Biotics, some more ridicules than others. But Jenkins clearly wasn't one of them.
"Really? So you can throw stuff around, just with your mind?!"
Kaidan wanted to dampen the Corporals enthusiasm a bit and point out the a little more complicated mechanics, but oh boy… Jenkins was basically bouncing off the walls at this point.
"And people too, right??"
"Yeaaah…" Kaidan answered, eyes narrowing. He didn't like at all where this was going.
"Can you throw me?!"
Kaidan took a deep breath, ready to set Jenkins Head straight, but he didn't even let him get a word in.
"I mean, we will be on the ground team together right? So I should know what to expect? I never worked with a Biotic before! What if you do some crazy space magic shit and I get caught off guard?" he rattled of, not once stopping for breath or giving Kaidan a chance to butt in.
"Alright alright. She the boxes back there? I'll throw you into them."
Jenkins nodded enthusiastically, to his credit keeping the "Yay!" he was clearly thinking to himself, and went into what he apparently deemed a throwable posture.
With a surge of blue Jenkins flew threw the air, crashing all but gently into the pile of boxes.
For a moment it was deathly silent in the room and Kaidans mind raced. Had he used to much force? Was Jenkins knocked out? Or worse… before he could get into motion, Jenkins popped up like a slightly disheveled Jack-in-the-Box.
"That….was AWESOME! Can we do it again?!"
Kaidan exhaled slowly, feeling like a weight had just lifted from his shoulders. Then he pulled himself together and shot Jenkins a stern look.
“Once is enough. I don't want to have to explain to our superiors that you got injured during a sparring match before our first mission!”
Sparring match, right. That's what he would be calling it, should Shepard catch wind of this and come asking why he was tossing Marines through the cargo bay.
