Thats really unkind of your mother to sat to you and clearly comes from a place of ignorance. Tumblr is a good resource for information on identities in general and not just self identity. I'd encourage you to introduce her to some sources outside of tumblr that she can read, maybe find some books or an article or two online. Sending good thoughts your way <3

i honestly couldn't believe i was hearing her say that it was just mindblowing that someone i trusted so much would say those things when i was so desperate for their help and acceptance

i tried to explain to her that tumblr was what helped lead me to other sources that helped me realize what i was feeling, and i have tried so many times to get her to read articles and go to websites about gender and sexuality but she is so adamant that unless she hears it directly from a professional or from an utterly undisputed source that its not true.
