I am consumed with envy, for I have not yet read Floornight and do not intend to, but I'm sure I'll get there one day. So I can't speak to its quality yet. But the interviewer is in an unusual position where I think I can answer the question of what it's really like, which is a lot more interesting to me and to many people besides you. My own experience with the book has been a lot like the interview's: I was only about two-thirds of the way through before I thought "oh, wait, this is amazing", and I've been obsessively trying to finish it so I can experience what the rest of it is like. (Incidentally, I'm not sure if this is a common experience with the book.)
