"I can't go back Yuuka. I failed her."
An image of a girl with red hair and bob haircut popped up in your head. Her smile, although nervous, was full of enthusiasm. This girl whom you met in the middle of your grand escape from Jigokou has meant so much to you, gave your life a whole new meaning, that all humans weren't vile after all. And yet, you contributed to one of her greatest fears,
The fear of being left alone by a loved one
You had no idea what you were getting into when you fought the motherboard of Makai. None of you did.
The battle was ferocious, it was certain that one of the four was going to die. In a great act of bravery, you offered yourself to deliver the final blow. You said you bitter goodbyes to your dear apprentice who you treated like a younger sister, your own child almost. This girl, now blonde was a sobbing mess. Her heart was obviously shattered to smithereens watching you go. And the cherry on top? She thought she failed you. She thought she was the one at fault for not being strong enough. First failing to protect her childhood friend from a fire, her younger brother from her bastard of a verbally abusive father, and now you.
And yet here you are. Unscaved, non-bloodied, and not gone like you told her you would be. Hiding out in the garden of Sun.
You sigh as you hide your shame by drinking more sake. It did nothing to help ease the guilt, though. But to be fair, can spirits really get drunk? Your Flower Yokai friend sat by you quietly. Although she said she could care less about your personal dilemma, you could see the look of concern in her quick glances to you.
You take another sip, admiring the Sunflower field accompanied by the night sky.
