bit late to the party but i suppose it's the corruversary so i guess i'll post about it
this game has genuinely been a massive inspo for an oc of ours and we genuinely want to do stuff with him, and we've introjected a lot of the characters (gakvu, tozik, miltza, telyu, kazki, isabel) and it's certainly made an impact on our lives. i hesitate to call it positive, but the game itself certainly has made a positive impact on our lives.
as for the community, it still has a long way to go. we're especially affected by this, but generally the community seems to view people like us who are just rough around the edges and need some extra support (and having none) as bad people undeserving of a proper support network even though they are very like them, only hurting. here is my message for the community: if you see someone who is being brash, rude, or otherwise causing problems- dig deeper. don't assume things. never assume things. always think about why someone would be this way and what would they give in return for support. and never, ever be harsh to them back- all that will do is drive them away from the community. if you are kind, and soft, and let them heal, let them be themselves with you- you will get a lifelong friend who will do everything to see you happy.
i would have never appreciated the game as i have if i was pushed away by the very people who would never think twice about me.
