I feel like Freddy turning on us then us having to save him because it’s our fault he’s corrupted we did this to him would be better then what we got.
Honestly, I think it would've been a really neat idea. It would've:
-Had repercussions for Gregory stealing the animatronics' parts. While I personally feel like Gregory wasn't in the wrong for fighting back against the Glamrocks, the community seems pretty torn on this, and I feel like having there be a negative result and having Gregory fix it would've softened that response.
-Flipped the idea of Freddy being Gregory's get out of jail free card by having Gregory have to protect himself AND save Freddy.
-Brought the Freddy and Gregory relationship full circle. Gregory is on the run all game, but he stops running because of the bond he's formed with Freddy.
-Plus, it would've been pretty scary. Just the mechanics they could've had- having to lure and trick Freddy with the button you used to summon him with- could've led to some nail biting situations.
And it would've also fixed the issue with the story being too depressing, because it would've pretty much been the first time in FNAF that a main character managed to reclaim control. Which is especially impactful as it would be a child to do it this time.
A very neat story idea!
