Murder of Crows

Once upon a time there was an Empire under rule of an Emperess. Every 13 years a new Emperess would replace the old one. Life was well, until after nearly 2 millenia a terrible mistake was made... A group of Heroes attempted to stop the Crowning of the new Emperess, a young woman of just 16. They fought the magic armor guarding the Castle and made their way to the Throne Room. The burst through the door and saw the old Emperess nearly crowning the new... They killed the old Emperess, breaking the Seal of the Cursed Afflictions. The new Emperess’ soul shattered by the Seal being broken. She had been connected to the old Emperess to transfer the Seal and so the slumbering curses. The Group of Heroes were petrified by the blast, leaving statues in the Throne Room. The Cursed Afflictions effected the land and lives of all in the Empire... And soon the lands grew cold, people got sick and some started to show symptomes of the Cursed Afflictions.

Krow lived in the Endos Region, the furthest away from the Castle of the Emperess. Word had reached them late and by that time the damage had already been done... Krow had one day come home to find his brother murdering his 2 sisters. Stabbing them over and over, screaming that they were demons out for his marrow. Krow dropped the food he had been carrying drawing his brother’s attention. He attacked Krow, raving about how he too would not get his brother’s marrow. Trying to calm his brother they wrestled until the dagger plunged deeply into his brother’s ribcage. The pain broke his brother’s trance at which point he begged Krow to end his life. His wound was fatal and even if he did survive he’d still have the Madness... With tears in his sockets Krow complied, driving the dagger through his brother’s soul. He died in Krow’s arms... Having nothing left Krow decided to leave to the only place that could hold a clue.. The Castle of the Emperess...

Corvik lived in the Al’iva Region, between the Endos region and the Sulkos region. He studied under their village Healer and was first to notice things were off. The plants started rotting and people were acting differently. Soon word of what happened in the Castle arrived. An angry mob threw itself at the messenger, killing them and their horse. The healer trying his best to protect and help got killed by the mob aswell. The mob went on a killing spree, the Bloodthirst having a tight grip on them. Corvik, who had been frantically looking for a way to stop them managed to find a cure in his Mentor’s old spell book. But it proved to late... The village wiped itself out... There were too little ingredients and he started to feel the symptoms himself... The sight and smell of blood started to make him thirst for more. He made himself some of the cure, but it turned out it only supressed his Bloodthirst. When Krow passed his village Corvik joined him on his journey to the Castle of the Emperess.

Rav lived in the Sulkos region, closest to the Castle of the Emperess. The disaster hit them hard... The harvest failed, life stock got sick and died, the water became undrinkable with the amount of dead fish in it.. People were driven to starvation.. and with that the Ravenous affliction took hold of them. Rav had to fight off people left and right to defend his little brother. He scavenged what little food was left in the land but always fed his younger sibling first before he had any... Meaning he’d go days without food. The hunger became increasingly harder to ignore and soon he’d found himself looking at his little brother like he was a piece of meat. Luckily for them they were found by The Pack, a group of rag tag people looking for anyone who survived the Cursed Afflictions. They fed the pair, giving Rav a chance to supress the Ravenous curse and so save himself and his brother. This is where Krow and Corvik met him and he agreed to go with them to the Castle of the Emperess. Leaving his little brother in the care of the Pack and setting off with the other 2 skeletons to the Castle.
