@corvusrequiem inquired : ❝ I will roll you up in a blanket if you refuse to go to bed. ❞
DAPHNE’S EYELIDS HAD GROWN HEAVY . Repetitively flitting open and closed , as she fought back against her slumber . Pale cheek pressed easily against the comfort of his woollen jumper . It was undoubtedly knitted by his mother - materialistically worth nothing compared to the fine garments that hung in her own wardrobe - but to her , it was the most valuable piece of clothing she had ever come across . It radiated love , which was something no amount of her family’s money could buy . It was an emotion she had been deprived of for so long , that she wasn’t sure she even fully comprehended it . But something about the knitted fabric that clung to his upper frame , made her understand it just that tiny bit more .
She nuzzled closer into him , breathing in the familiar scent of smoke that lingered on him - no doubt a by product of some kind of explosion he had caused a mere few hours earlier . ❝ Five more minutes . ❞ She murmured , her tone practically inaudible as she sank deeper into her tiredness . ❝ I never get to see the stars in that poxy underground common room . ❞ Her eyes were all but closed now , her breath slow and heavy . She knew she was a goner , but she hoped he wouldn’t stir just yet . She wanted to remain there ; under the stars , resting against him and breathing him in for a few moments longer . Utterly content .
