coryphoto - come take a behind the scenes look at my my shoot with ryan eggold. nothing fancy, just a simple camera, simple lense, simple idea. focusing on collaboration above everything. i start every session with a quick interview. it allows to sitter to acclimate and allows me to get to know and build a rapport with my subject. the interviews are never planned, and always improvised. every person is refreshingly different and i always learn something new. i love starting sessions this way because it cuts out the awkwardness of the first frame and lets us get cooking immediately. from here it’s nothing fancy, simple camera, simple light, and shooting from the hip. true collaboration from artist to artist. its hard to record behind the scenes, while shooting digital, shooting film, recording audio, shooting moving portraits, and collecting as much raw data as possible. i always tend to put the most focus on images so my BTS coverage suffers 10/10 times. the images turned out amazing, and i’m beyond happy with the final high res art. now its time to started creating a multimedia post for social media. which i'm really digging these days. allows me to combine my skillset to create a 3d portrait of still, moving visual and audio from the subject. thats it, simple shoot, simple idea. using and working with the constraints of the day rather than fighting with them. focus on collaboration and let the rest fall into place.
