Like many German musicians who went on to release kosmiche and disco influenced material in the late 70 and early 80s, Klaus Hoffmann started out as a member of various psychedelic and prog rock bands.
After purchasing his first Mellotron in 1974, he soon went solo with his increasingly sonic explorations, however, it was not until 1982 that the first Cosmic Hoffmann release appeared.
Originally recorded in 1978 for the soundtrack to an ultimately doomed film project, the beautiful kosmiche original was reworked some 3 years later with electronic percussion and piercing synth solo over the top.
Tucked away on the b-side of an overlooked 7”, Space-Disco has since become a classic and highly sought after piece of the Cosmic Disco puzzle.
Now 30 years later, Emotional Rescue is able to reissue both the ambient original and the 7” version together for the first time. Fully licensed and remastered, as ever with updated artwork from the 7” single, this classic interstellar Moog and Mellotron wig-out is again aiming for the stars.
Released November 2013.
