Artist interview with Billie Montfort, AKA Cosmic Danger!
"How did you get interested in Transformers?"
It was a random tumblr post that piqued my interest, actually! It was a collection of gifs from Transformers Prime. I just remember being so impressed that there could be a series about robots that looked so beautiful-- I knew I just had to find out what it was, and watch it! Of course, after blazing my way through it I needed more, and some screenshots of art by Alex Milne and Sarah Stone sealed my fate; I was hooked on everything Transformers from then on!
"What's your favorite Transformers series?"
TF:Prime definitely holds a place near and dear to me-- you never forget your first love, after all! But I think that MTMTE is truly the champion of my heart. It’s just got such a great story, with characters who are deeply flawed but so easy to love.
"Tell us about your favorite piece of Transformers art you've made."
Ooh, that’s tough! It’s hard to pick just one, but I think I have to say it’s the illustration I did for the 2018 TF Calendar fan project! The theme of the calendar for that year was war, conflict, and fire-- it was a little out of my artistic comfort zone, so I really had to push myself. Whirl is my favorite character so I always enjoy drawing him, and I think I did a great job with the colors and the composition for this piece as well. "What are you most excited for at CybFest NW?"
I’m so excited to have a chance to see old friends, and to make new ones!
