Memories from CybFest 2022 which I had in my drafts this whole time:
- the guy who wasn’t sure which G4 ponies his daughters didn’t have yet, so I pointed out every non-Mane-Six figure and he bought ALL of them. (I gave him a discount.)
- one of the other vendors told me that she bought Elsa-bot from me the previous year for her daughter’s fourth birthday and her daughter was ecstatic over it and wore it all the time because Transformers are cool to her (since her dad and older sister collect them) and she LOVES Frozen. I’ve always thought of Elsa-bot as a funny collector item, so it was touching to hear she was genuinely loved.
- a lady I’d previously sold a 60cm (2 foot) Yeloli doll to had customized her and showed her to me, which was really cool.
Also, as much as I don’t like the Newborn Cuties, several little girls LOVED them. Out of all the ponies on the table, they picked those ones out. So I respect them for filling a niche, I guess.
- the lady who looked at my table and said, “Are those all YOURS? That’s AMAZING!” in an awed tone and I thought, “If you could only see how many ponies I have in my actual collection.”
- the opinionated two year old who looked disgusted at each pony her mom offered her until she picked the “right” pony (G4 Pinkie Pie)
- the vendor next to me who bought a handmade Love-A-Lot Bear from me, then came back and bought a little bib for her from the dollar bin
