A very scary few days but I’m glad it's all over now. On Saturday afternoon the eldest Cosmic Child got admitted to the Children's Intensive Care Unit of our local hospital with a lower respiratory tract infection. She was initially put on oxygen but she was a very serious case and soon they had to switch to a ventilator and sedate her. It was rather touch and go if she could be treated at our hospital as they thought she was too serious of a case for them to deal with. Plans were drawn up to send her to a specialist ICU in London. But she fought back like an absolute lion and proved the doctors wrong! Over the next few days she was weened down off of the sedation and oxygen, and was taken off of the feeding tube too. There was even time to play a little before this afternoon when she was finally allowed to come home! We're so glad she's home and better. And I'm looking forward to a night in my own bed again after staying with her the whole time.
