Also, the ending of Tokyo Ghoul WAS THE BEST PART. Why change that? The whole point of the tale is for it to be a tragedy if the ending is changed that's simply not the case.
I definitely agree with you about the ending. I’ve been seeing people hope for this new alternate ending to be a happy one but yeah, that would completely ruin the whole point of Tokyo Ghoul. Kaneki’s story is meant to be a tragedy. Now that doesn’t mean he’s going to die, but there are a lot of other ways for this end so that it’s still a tradegy.
Although I love the characters of Tokyo Ghoul so much and in a way I hope they all get to be happy, I’m expecting another messed up, painful, tragic ending for Kaneki. (ಥ⌣ಥ)
That extremely upsets me. Tokyo Ghouls original story is so phenomenal why change that? How did they expect this not to upset long time fans? I mean I wanted to watch one of my favorite mangas come to life and they're telling me that won't happen.
I feel like since the first season was such a failure at adapting the manga, they decided to do this with the alternate story instead. The first season left out and changed so many things that it didn’t even really feel like Tokyo Ghoul anymore. But yeah, I also feel kinda disappointed that we won’t get to see things that were in the manga. The second half of the manga is definitely where things really took off.
The kind of mindset I have at this point is that the Tokyo Ghoul manga and Tokyo Ghoul anime are two different things. Honestly, the anime skipped over so many important little details that it’s more of an animated summary of Tokyo Ghoul rather than an adaptation of it.
So in the end I come to this conclusion: Tokyo Ghoul season 1 and season 2 should both have been at least a 24 episode series.
