ah i’ve never rlly considered the reader as having a battle form tbh?? bc if i did it would def be written in there before w reader being like WHAT THE FUCK AM I WEARING????? but reader p much doesnt have a battle form. for ayakashi its an instinctual shift, a defense mechanism, like cats raising their hackles to appear larger, they transform into their battle forms to show that they mean business. onmyoji don’t have that defense mechanism, esp if they’re raised without any knowledge of divining like reader was. the only sort of battle form they have is their bond mark becoming visible to humans tbh, but that’s more from their powers welling up and kind of overflowing than an actual defense mechanism like an ayakashi’s battle form
