Thinking bout cosplaying again. Kinda stuck on how I'm gonna do it though. I gotta get to know some fashion/clothing/wig/hair nerds frfr

I've done Siffrin ISAT before. Kinda Really wanna do Corbeau Pokemon this time (as a fellow short King™️). Seems simple but on closer inspection, he has some fuckass fashion choices (affectionate). I mean just look at him.

Those glasses?? Nevermind those, look at that cord(cord, right?)! What even is it? Fabric? Plastic?? Wire?? ??? ?????? "Oh the coat looks easy just buy one and modify-" Not with those lapels!! And that funky ass lining! What kind of pattern is that? What do you call wavy drippy poison patterns? The drip hem too? I'm gonna need a pattern from scratch, but I don't know shit about coats like that! Is it as long as it looks or just high waisted pants? Oh but wait till you see this. His hair? Looks fine and not like hell to style? Check the back.

Yeesh. How the fuck am I supposed to style a wig like that? Who cuts their hair like that?? How does it look when it's unstyled?? It's really cool, don't get me wrong, but it's really impractical too!

I'll figure something out but damn. Guess I gotta learn how to make a blazer. Or sport coat. Or whatever the fuck it's called. I don't even know where to begin with the glasses. Or hair. I'll settle for close enough on many aspects, but not without trying first.

it’s like… what… 12 days before con and I literally just realized FROM THE HOLIDAY ART, that vere has way more going on than I thought… LORDDDDD

cosplaying from visual novels is so… like you don’t realize how much a character actually has going on until you have to study them for days on end.

I need to get this primed today and get a base coat on it and sort out my shoes and add a clip to the back of the wig to make the ponytail detachable...let's do this!!!

I finally started making the wig for my Misto cosplay! It’s been on the backburner for a long time now just because life happened, but I am very close to completing the costume. The wig is not as intimidating as I first thought, so I’m just brushing my way through the plugs at the moment. 

One question I did have is whether or not it would be a good idea to straighten the plugs or leave them frizzy/fluffy. I’m not really fond of the look and the hairs are longer and shinier when straightened, I’m just not sure if they’ll be too floppy or not. Of course, with a little styling and hair products they should stay in shape. 

I also am going to do some non-traditional ears since I have been into needle felting over the last six months and I have to out all this extra floof to use! I’m planning on needle felting some realistic looking cat ears to add to my wig, since a lot of what I’ve been doing is not exactly production standard. Initially I did want to be show standard, but it turns out I’m having more fun and stressing less over taking my own approach. 

of course, at this state any suggestions would be helpful! I haven’t started gluing the plugs in and won’t for a while yet.

Every day I think about how I could realistically closet cosplay dazai and chuuya. mostly chuuya though, I dress like that guy anyways and in the summer my hair goes redder bc it’s auburn…,, all I would need is his hat. I have literally everything im not even joking

ok so i've found some fabric that will work for that funky inner coat lining. couldn't find wavy drippy poison lines, but fuchsia and orange blobs will do. similar Vibes. gonna raid my mom's sewing space and see if she has any blazer/sport coat/suit top/what the fuck ever patterns. preferably longer ones. don't wanna make more patterns than i have to.

speaking of, i'm gonna need to make my own lapel pattern. oh and embroidery! gotta put the pink on the ends. and more pink at the hem, with purple on ends. corbeau has quite the coat, hopefully it'll be as fun to make as it is to complain about! And if anyone can find a closer match to that inner coat lining than this, please let me know!
