Now that I get a closer look at some of the artwork of the sword, it's less of a cutlass and more of a katana with a unique protective hilt and a safety lock mechanism built into the handle (lol, fuck making that thing). What's also kind of interesting is that they designed a scabbard, but never used it. Makes sense though, seeing as she just kinda fabricated swords from thin air.

Design issues aside, I'm running into the problem where I'm not entirely sure how and what I want to make this thing out of. Worba will be handy for the detailey bits on the habaki at least, but for the blade itself I really not confident enough to get a blade that smooth with worbla. I'm half considering getting my hands on some sintra.

Luckily, there's no imminent deadline for this so I have time to think. I should probably go eat though. That's a thing I need to do today.
