Cosplay armor tutorial 1: Supplies. I use cheap craft foam from Walmart, hot glue, acrylic paints, and googly eyes. 2: Measure and cut your shapes. I'm making a diamond shaped pauldron, so I held the foam over my shoulder and marked out about how big I wanted it to be, before cutting the diamond shape, and then cutting the extra pieces for the border and emblem. 3: Glue everything together. Use layers to make things 3 dimensional. The face of this is 3 layers. A base flat layer, a layer that makes up the border, and the symbol on top. 4: Use hot glue to create raised detailing. All I did here was outline everything, but you can use this for all sorts of designs depending on the piece. 5: Googly eye rivets. Since this is all metal, I'm using the eyes to look like rivets holding everything together. Looks silly now, but it'll look great painted. 6: Prime. Especially since I'm using green foam, I put a couple of coats of white paint over everything to start with. 7: Paint. First coat is a dark metallic gray. I just mixed a little black with a metallic silver paint. I used 2 coats for this, just to make sure you couldn't see any of the white underneath. 8: Silver finish. Using a towel (I'd recommend paper, unless you have a dedicated paint towel) rub a lighter silver over the dark gray. Scrub until it's as tarnished looking as you like. 9: Any extra colors or decor. And you're done! Add a couple of coats of spray sealant, and enjoy. =) #cosplay #cosplayarmor #cosplaytutorial #cosplayarmortutorial #armortutorial https://www.instagram.com/p/BqOe5-nAR-D/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1xxq4613zkwdl
