Raven's cloak is soooooo long! For reference, Aaron is 6' so this has been a lot to pattern and cut. The more I work on this cloak, the more I love it! I plan on basting the hood eyes and raven symbols in place with stabilizer on the wrong side of the black vinyl first, then satin-stitching the appliques in place. I've learned from past projects that it will make my life infinitely easier to use fabric stabilizer for something like this! I dont want it to be too stiff though, so that the cloak still moves and flows like a cloak should. The "coat tails" of the cloak should defy gravity and flip up at the bottom - to achieve that, I have chicken wire shaped and ready to use. Just waiting on a bunch of 2mm foam to come in so I can finish prepping the tails.
