◇Inspiration◇ Back in the groove with these #MarchMeetTheMaker posts! I get inspired by odd things and it is most often not consistent. One source of inspiration I can identify is fandom, and the passion its fans choose to show. I love designing pieces and writing blog posts that are going to make a fellow fan smile. My latest point of fixation has been the brand new Thirteenth Doctor- Jodie Whittaker! I've already designed an enamel pin for @loganarchchicago, proclaiming my support, and yesterday I went down an internet rabbit hole trying to identify this sweater she wore on the cover of the latest Sunday Times Magazine! #TipTuesday! I know it doesn't need to be said, but sometimes you need to tell people to do this. Do your research for a costume! Look up construction methods, fabrics, and multiple references for making it. For example for my Richard Sharpe cosplay I've been looking at so many things - especially fabrics & other materials. But it applies to so much, even anime costumes that appear to be very simple. If you can, try to see how others have made the same costume you're making. As some of you may already know, I conducted a research study on the perception of race in cosplay a month or two ago-some of you may have even participated in my survey or viewed my results on my blog. . Well, I'm happy to announce that I will be presenting my research at Anime Expo 2017's Academic Symposium alongside Brianna Robles, another talented mind! .
