Okay cosplayers... I've sewn renn faire dresses, but I've never done anything like this before. What do you think of this horn shape for my dragon lady? This post is doing its rounds on Facebook and THIS!!! You may not like kids and that's fine,you may not have the greatest social skills and that's fine. BUT if you cosplay a character that a child loves and they wanna interact with you than DO it!! They are kids! They might be having a tough time at home,at school or in general. Maybe they throw themselves into the fictional world that their favourite character is in just because they can. Seeing their character idol come to life lights up their world! Don't be rude! Kids have enough adults being rude to them,they don't need their favourite character being rude to them. Just interact with the kids! Give them a wave,a smile,a hello..you don't have to cuddle them (unless its 100% okay with everyone involved). Maybe even ask the child their name,bet they'd get a kick out of their favourite character knowing their name. Just be polite to children! I know every cosplayer says this BUT... Don't be afraid to go back to "old" cosplays and revamp them. Did you hate the first time you wore the cosplay? Was it because you gave it a rushed job or was it because there was faults that you said "I'll fix it later"? Than the cosplay got shoved to the back of the pile,never too see the daylight again. Yeah..we all do that..even the elite cosplayers..the cosplayers you look up to do it too. It's okay.. we all have those cosplays.. I'm still learning when it comes to making my own cosplays,I've been self teaching myself since 2014 and I'm still learning. All of my cosplays were in the "It looks okay for now,I'll fix it later" category. Well that time has come for everything I've created since 2014 to see the light of day. It helps. At the time,I didn't know how to do this or that but now...I know how to do this or that and the learning experience that's happened in the past 4/5years is helping now. Don't be afraid to show the world the cosplay that "you think is okay for now,". Don't be afraid to use what you've learnt to go back and work on "old" cosplays. We are all learning and forever learning regardless of what we do in this life we've been given. #cosplay #cosplayadvice
