I saw those #cosplayimprovement posts going around and well there's no better way to join a bandwagon than publicly exposing my dark past! The picture on the left was the first time I ever cosplayed Switzerland, at Otakon 2010. The wig was Party City Atrocious because the one I had ordered online didn't arrive in time for the con, yikes. I didn't really know how to use bias tape, the shoulder boards were hot-glued on, the boots were some plaid wellies I spray-painted black... I was a Grade-A Hot Mess™ back then! Flash forward to the picture on the right... 💕 I know basic makeup! I can style a high-ponytail! I can tell the difference between fabrics and know which ones are historically accurate! I can s u f f e r over pleats! Woohoo!!! We all start somewhere. Practice really does make a difference. Try, fail, try again. Cosplay is a hobby of love, and I love how far I've come in the last eight years. Don't give up. - Kenshin Photo by @telekineticmaniac • • • #cosplay #improvement #throwback #hetalia #2010cosplay #cosplaythrowback #kenshin #himurakenshin #rurounikenshin #kenshincosplay #thatwigtho
