30 Days of Cosplay Day 4 - Your cosplay communities, where do you go to talk about cosplay?
Honestly, mostly Cosplay.com. The forums have a bunch of specific areas for different questions/tutorials for when I'm still working on cosplay. For afterwards, it has boards for the major cons and thus helps find pictures taken of my cosplays. And even specific con information like hotel status (which, by the way, is insane at cons; having to book a year early is ridiculous but something I've made myself do). Those are the places I actually talk about cosplays.
But there's other places I check for cosplay stuff, most notably CosplayTutorial.com since most of the tutorials from Cosplay.com are linked through there anyways. Randomly the creator of the site was also at Anime North last year in a panel I saw, so that was also cool.
There will be a lot of changes to CosplayTutorial this summer and I want your feedback to help shape CosplayTutorial's growth! If you follow this blog then your opinion matters, it helps you see more content that you enjoy! You can vote in the poll or leave comments on this post. i think this poll doesn’t quite work…I’ve made many costumes, but would never consider myself “very skilled” It's just to get a rough idea of where my followers are in terms of skill level. If you have made several costumes you aren't looking for "how to plan your first cosplay" tutorials and you probably aren't looking at basics like "how to make boot covers" but you may be more interested in the community and news surrounding the hobby. "Very Skilled" is just a title for that section, to quickly determined where you might fall. The description gives a rough idea of what might fall in that category. So if you're stuck, just choose where you feel your knowledge is. You can also send me comments with further explanation of what you're looking to get out of CosplayTutorial.
