I’m kinda sick of this, but I’m gonna say it again. Here are some white characters I have cosplayed. My love for these characters isn’t any less valid because of my skin colour, I didn’t put it any less work. We watch the animes, we play the games, we stan the movies just like everyone else. So you can imagine how painful it is when people overlook your hard work and passion simply because of the colour of your skin. You can imagine how it is when you don’t want to check the comments of a shared black cosplayers photo or your own because of the abhorrent comments. If a black cosplayer has ‘ruined’ a character for you then you didn’t like them that much in the first place (just saying). Black cosplayers: you are loved, you are worthy and you are inspiring. Keep cosplaying who you love, I will always support you. Also while I’m at it: notice how I didn’t have to whiten my skin for these cosplays?
