Inspired by @dressesandcapes I wanted to do my own 28 days of black cosplay. 1 cosplay for each day of February. Today, I’m showing off my favorite Disney character cosplay so far: Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas. As a goth, I’ve ALWAYS loved this movie and wanted to challenge myself with how to make myself into the Pumpkin King. Or in this case, the Pumpkin Queen. Also this is my first time cosplaying Disney royalty. Cosplay made by me and my stellar spine heel shoes are from Amazon. As a Black cosplayer, I’ve long since realized that cosplayers in the black community don’t get there just dues and appreciation for the work they do. We are always called “variants” or “(insert character name) if they were black”. I think it’s time we break that negative stigma and show appreciation for cosplayers of color.
