Costip #1: Fabric Hunting
Hi guys, let me introduce you, to my new tool for my shopping hunting!
I’ve took the time to gather every fabric I own in this book, so when I go fabric Shopping, I know what I’ve got, and don’t buy 2 times the same fabric, and can compare with what I’ve got home. Not only that, but It’s way more easer to know what I own, that going to my boxes and drown in my fabrics! :-)
In it, I cut out a sample a sample of every fabric I own, and attach it the to page. Then I wrote down the informations I need about it. I can be different for everybody, or be organized different too, but here is what I do:
What I got left of the fabric.
Is there left overs or not.
Where did I bought it (If I remember).
(Also but optional for me: For which cosplay did/will I used it, If I used it).
On the opposite page, I write down specific things like: If there is left overs, are they big pieces or small pieces, is it in good shape, elactic, the price of the fabric ... Everything I feel important to remember!
Now, your fabric needs to be organized. I’ve bought boxes and put labels reffering to my book. A box for the fabrics (Pieces with a good size and the 2 edges of the fabric), a box for the Big lefts overs (the one that you can still do something with it, like a cloth or something), and small lefts overs (the ones that you can do nothing with it, but can still be usefull).
And that’s it! Now you can bring this book for your fabric Hunting, and add every new fabric you god to it. My advice, will be to had them, after you do the cosplay you wanted with it.
Good luck with your fabric Hunting!
