Throbbing Gristle was an English music and visual arts group formed in Kingston upon Hull in 1975. The band comprised of by Genesis P-Orridge (vocals, bass, guitar, violin), Cosey Fanni Tutti (guitars, cornet, vocals, tapes), Peter Christopherson (tapes, sampler, electronics) and Chris Carter (synthesisers, tapes, programming). The band is widely regarded as a pioneer of the industrial music genre. They made their debut public appearance in Oct 1976 at the ICA in London at an exhibition titled, “Prostitution”. The bands debut album, “The Second Annual Report”, was released in Nov 1977 to critical acclaim and is acknowledged as being one of the very first industrial music albums #1977
