Fringe & the Dead

Twelve months ago, the most impressive piece of Fringe fan fiction I have ever read came to a close.  Cotillion66’s Fringe & the Dead was beyond epic!

I started rereading it at the beginning of July, when I was on a week-long vacation on the shore of a beautiful lake.  If you are looking for some enthralling summer reading, I wholeheartedly recommend taking in Mike’s opus (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9936558/1/Fringe-the-Dead).  It requires a serious commitment, as it is longer than War and Peace, if fanfiction.net’s word count follows convention.

I was able to finish it today (26 days later) and felt the same satisfaction, awe, and tears I experienced a year ago when I read the epilogue the first time around.  Fabulous stuff!

So, Hypothetically

If one were to create a fusion AU between the MCU and The Malazan Book of the Fallen, how would the character mapping go? (I made a huge mistake rereading this monstrosity. Help).

Here’s what I’ve got so far:

Thor - Azathanai, Aspected to War (Calladan Brood analogue)

Jane - Reader of the Deck (sort of between Tattersail and Fiddler? Basically curious about EVERYTHING, which manifests in the ability to interpret ascendants. May be in the process of becoming an ascendant herself aspected to High House Life).

Maximov Twins: Debating, but I think Oppon? Them being twins and all.

Natasha - The Rope, Patron of Assassins, High House Shadow

Clint - A surviving member of the above’s Talon. Either Knight for High House Shadow, or, often possessed by The Rope, on the way to ascendancy (see Lostara Yil). Would become Herald for High House Death (Toc the Younger)?

Fury - King, High House Shadow

Coulson - Herald, High House Shadow 

Steve - King, High House Life. Erskine experiments translate to being made Soletaken. 

Bucky - Soldier, High House Death - Still undecided. Possibly made Soletaken by force.

Tony - Mason, High House Death/Herald, High House War.

Bruce - Knight/Mage, High House Chains. Totally Soletaken. May be a half-breed Jaghut mage of some kind...Ooooooorrrr, has a Jaghut Tryrant’s soul grafted on alla Quick Ben. Which tries to take over, occassionally.

Well, the cops were there, and they said that his family has valid insurance. So now I’m waiting to see what they say. If they give me crap, I am definitely taking his dumb ass to court!
