could we stop holding marginalized people to a higher standard than straight cis white guys? Like, straight cis white guys are given the benefit of the doubt constantly, even on things they screw up almost all the time, just because we assume they just haven’t gotten to that point in their ‘wokeness’ yet. Are even heralded for doing the bare minimum. But with marginalized people, if they mess up at all, we shut them down completely, cancel on impact, because we assume that they know everything and are doing it on purpose. No benefit of the doubt. Hey, fellow leftists, could we like, not? We’re all fucking human, we’re all flawed. If you have a problem with someone, tell them nicely. Eventually, people do change.

(part 1) Imagine a Spy au where Sherlock and John are both spies for Mycroft - Sherlock doing the detested "legwork" and John his invisible "caretaker". Sherlock knows he's being followed and watched and when he's not doing The Work, he spends his time trying to find out exactly who his new babysitter is, he's lasted longer than the others without being caught out. John is enjoying Sherlock's attempts to uncover him and leaves little clues to his identity.

(part 2) Eventually Sherlock finds out who John is and then the game gets more interesting as Sherlock tries to catch John and meet him face to face. They begin communicating via burner phone texts and untraceable email. One time John even calls him, taunting him that he was *so* close this time to finding him. Finally, it takes Sherlock getting almost seriously injured for John to reveal himself and kick major ass. Sherlock gets an instant boner from John’s BAMF-iness.

(part 3, last) The second they are cleared from debriefing, Sherlock practically drags John back to 221B and they tear into each other, Sherlock scolding John for making him wait so long and John chuckling and teasing him for being impatient before taking him apart piece by piece. From then on, they work as a team, much to Mycroft’s chagrin.

Sherlock letting himself get spotted on CCTV he knows John is tapped into wearing the tightest things he owns to tempt him into revealing himself. Finding reasons why he ‘needs’ to go undercover in clubs and on beaches.

They don’t respond to missives for 36 hours after hiding in 221.

Support staff draw straws working with them as listening to the radio channel is just 85% flirting and it gets a w k w a r d (there are a couple that desperately try to win… it can be hot to listen to, too…)

John in tight black tactical gear with a THIGH HOLSTER ON THE OUTSIDE. I don’t know why but that DOES THINGS TO ME.

It turns out that occasionally they need to use John as the active agent when they need someone to seduce a target - and with Sherlock deducing things about the chosen target, an John’s skill in pulling it off, it rarely fails.
